Jimsonweed (Datura/Stamonium)

Common names: Green Dragon, Loco Weed, and Devil's Trumpet.

Brief description: Large, annual herb, 3 to 5 feet high. Leaves are alternate and oval-shaped, dark green in color growing up to 8 inches long with short leaf stems. Fruit about 2 inches long, small seeds, brownish black in color. Flowers are violet-purple, funnel-shaped, and 2 to 5 inches long, blooming usually in late spring.

Poisonous parts: Entire plant especially the seeds and leaves.

Poisoning: Common effects include hyperthermia , dry mucus membranes, tachycardia , decreased gastrointestinal motility, urinary retention, delirium , hallucinations and drowsiness.
